How To Apply

To qualify for a place on the programme, learners will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Be aged between 16 - 19 years
  • Have an EHC plan
  • Have reached a minimum of Entry Level 1 in English and Maths
  • Be independently travel trained / willing to work towards being travel trained
  • Have a strong desire to achieve employment

If you are already a student at Abbey Hill College, speak to Jayne Waller (College Department Lead), Mr J Moss (Transition Manager) or Mrs Z Gunn (Employer Relationship Manager).

Please note: the admission of students to the college is largely controlled by the Local Authority (LA).  The LA follows the procedures described in the SEND Code of Practice 2014 and may recommend placement at the college. Referrals for admission to Abbey Hill College will arise from a student’s Education Health Care plan (EHC plan) or Annual Review recommendations agreed by Stoke-on Trent Local Authority (LA) where Abbey Hill College is named.
