Key Stage 4 Curriculum

At Key Stage 4 we have four mixed needs tutor groups (Class 9, 10, 11 and 12) and 1 Autism Support class (Holly).

Pupils are streamed for English, maths, D&T, computing, science and PE. Pupils are taught in year groups for PSHE, and Careers/Life Skills sessions are taught within tutor groups. The process of accreditation begins with all pupils having the opportunity to gain qualifications in the following subjects: maths, English, science, D&T, and Computing.

Pupils can also select a pathway to study in both Humanities and the Arts, which also lead to a qualification.

Y11 pupils take part in an intensive travel training programme, whilst those who excel at sports join our gifted and talented PE sessions.

Careers Education

At Abbey Hill School & College we provide a comprehensive careers education which begins formally as pupils enter Year 7, but also includes tasters and experiences before this.  We aim to give our pupils a realistic understanding of the world of work expectations, processes and the skills to succeed.

Our careers lead is Mrs J Dyson who can be contacted via the school telephone number or the 'Contacts’ page on our website.
