College based learning may include:

  • Visits to various workplaces
  • Travel Training
  • Community-based activities
  • Workshops
  • English/Maths
  • Employability Skills
  • Interview skills
  • Communication skills
  • Money and time skills
  • Portfolio – keeping a record of your progress
  • Responding to employer requests for specific skills to be addressed

Learning at the work placement will be bespoke to the young person. You will learn a variety of skills and techniques that are needed to be successful in your chosen job.

Job Coach
You will be assigned a job coach who is essential in this programme. They will have a thorough knowledge of how best to support you. They will provide tailored support, such as demonstrating skills and helping to break tasks down for you. Your job coach will also be there to answer any questions you may have. Ultimately, their role is to enable you to be as independent as possible in the job so that you gain employment in your chosen workplace.
